jimbo_g 0 Posted June 10, 2013 Hi, we are planning to end a two-month European cycling trip in Romania this summer, from where we hope to take the train back to Paris. We intend to take the night train from Budapest to Zurich then a TGV to Paris - I know bikes are allowed on these trains. My question is, how to get to Budapest from Oradea - it appears on the Romanian train website that bikes are allowed on the IC366 from Brasov that arrives in Budapest at 17:20, but I'm not sure. Could someone confirm? And also, how to book spaces for the bikes, how much extra they cost, etc. would be very useful. I may have some more questions about our route - we are hoping to do something like Satu Mare - Baia Mare - Bistrita - Sighisoara - Alba Iulia - Apuseni, ending with a couple of days in the National Park before getting the train from Huedin or Oradea. jimbo_g 0 Posted June 10, 2013 That's excellent, thanks for the quick reply! Do you think we can book tickets in advance in another station, or do we buy them just before travelling?
Traveller 5,769 Posted June 10, 2013 It seems you could make reservations in advance on MAV (the Hungarian Railways) site : http://elvira.mav-start.hu/elvira.dll/xslvzs/uf
