Ok, are sens.

Exact.

What we learned... The Val d'Allos EWS
By Ric McLaughlin on  3 July 2013 in Mountain Bike Cross-Country

A machine-like Aussie, a machine-like Brit and a machine that just might work.

1. Nico, Nico, Nico...

Lapierre's one-man R+D department was pure class throughout and, if winning ten World Champs wasn't enough, proved that he's still hands down, 'the man'. When all the stages were combined, you're talking about a win of six seconds over an hour of racing - incredible.

2. Greg Minnaar. That is all.

Take the enduro spectacles off for a bit and look at the weekend in terms of a DH World Cup and a typically 'Greg' performance becomes apparent. He won his first ever enduro stage on the final stage and had gradually worked his way up through the field over the two days to warrant a third place overall. Having a recognised megastar like him do well is not only important for the series but great to see.

3. Graves is your leader

Jared Graves - top flight DH racer turned king of 4X turned BMX Olympian turned Enduro World Series overall points leader. Only Brian Lopes can really claim a more diverse spread of disciplines, such is Jared's range of skills. You have to love the man.

4. T-Mo looks unstoppable

There is an argument that says that Tracy doesn't need to race the EWS. She's won it all at the highest level, why not escape to a life of trotting the globe exploring some of it's finest trails?! Trek would be cool with that, right? Well, the probelm seems to be that she simply belongs between the tape. Another win at Val d'Allos and she's bossing the series.

5. The EWS is working

There was still the occasional gripe and grumble about practice (or lack there of) on various social media sites but it was greatly reduced from round one. The fact that two far from local southern hemisphere riders were on the podium proves that things are heading in the right direction. This is very much a Petri dish series away from the shackles of the UCI. The shackles don't appear to be being missed...
